I admit I’m not the biggest tennis fan in the world. When I do take time to sit and watch it, I find it’s not as bad as I expect it to be. Serena Williams, the best womens’ player in the world, was upset in the quarterfinals of the French Open by Svetlana Kuznetsova (you can’t pronounce it, don’t even try) 7-6, 5-7, 7-5.
Williams told the media she blamed her loss on being nervous, and that she gave the match away. “It was like, ‘Here, do you want to go to the semis? Because I don’t.’ She was like, ‘OK.”‘
Hopefully Williams will be able to bounce back and have a better showing later this summer at Wimbledon and the U.S Open.
